Storing Christmas Lights
I absolutely love Christmas lights. But storing them has always been another story. Many choice words have been said as I try to untangle the never ending wires and bulbs that just seem to magically get tangled each season as I get them out.
I love the holidays but getting out many of these holiday decorations takes a day all by itself. But I decided a few years ago as we downsized our home that these items had to be stored properly and in some kind of order or they had to go. We simply no longer had the space for all of these ornaments, fake Christmas trees and the associated twinkle lights that went with the season.
I finally found a way to store them that keeps them neat and tidy. It is such a simple setup but worth the investment. You simply take each set of lights and wrap them around the plastic sleeve as you take them down, and then they are stored safely in this special bag with a handle, almost like a filing cabinet. You can label them and all sets of lights will then be ready for another season without all the choice words. Check it out:

Christmas LIghts Storage Bag
This bag has a clear plastic window in the lid so you know what this box/bag contains. It is padded to help protect the bulbs. If you take the lights off your tree or house and simply wrap them as you go, then you will not get them tangled up. Wrapping them over your arm does not work, they always get tangled up.
I love this idea of the lights being separated by the holders then kept separate in the bag. Nothing worse that tackling a huge pile of wires and bulbs and dust, so this is really a worthwhile investment. It is much easier to keep track of what supplies you actually do have too. I remember purchasing new holiday lights because I simply couldn't find the last years supply that had been stored in a grocery bag under the stairs.
Try to keep your seasonal decorations in one area of your home, whether in the basement, closet, attic or garage. Invest in the right containers for the job, and your life will be so much easier when it comes time to get everything out you will need. You can get ornament storage, tree storage and more.
